Huawei has officially marked its return to the Vietnamese smartphone market after a five-year hiatus. The Chinese tech giant is making a bold comeback by introducing its latest flagship foldable, the Huawei Mate X7, to Vietnamese consumers.
The move marks a significant milestone for the company, which last sold smartphones in Vietnam in April 2020 with the P40 Pro. Huawei had previously scaled back its global operations following U.S. trade restrictions that limited its access to essential Google services.
Pricing and Availability
According to local sources, the Mate X7 is expected to hit store shelves in Vietnam by late January or early February 2026. The premium device is anticipated to be priced at approximately VND 40 million (US$1,522). To sweeten the deal, Huawei is expected to bundle the phone with exclusive gifts and premium after-sales services for early adopters.
Software and Performance
Unlike the domestic version sold in China, the international model available in Vietnam will run on EMUI—Huawei’s Android-based user interface—rather than its in-house HarmonyOS. This ensures a familiar experience for global users.
While the Chinese version utilizes the advanced Kirin 9030 Pro chipset, the specific processor for the Vietnamese market has yet to be officially disclosed on the website. The device will be available in several configurations:
-
RAM: 12 GB, 16 GB, or 20 GB
-
Storage: Up to 1 TB internal storage
